Eglise Saint-Vincent de Marimbault to Marimbault
The Romanesque church of Saint-Vincent, altered at various times, was under the control of the canons of Bazas from 1188. It has a curious facade with machicolations resting on thick, projecting buttresses and an arcaded bell tower pierced by broken bays with two canopies. Above a buttress, in the axis of the apse, is a window that has now been bricked up. It is highly likely that the sanctuary was built on the site of a Gallo-Roman villa. Numerous remains of 4th-century mosaics, with some very interesting designs, are on display in the Bazas museum.
