Uzeste Collegiate Church to Uzeste
Languages spoken
Beautiful Gothic collegiate church dating from the 14th century.
Heritage interpretation trail outside.
Set up as a collegiate church by the Pope in 1312, this former Romanesque sanctuary is now the burial place of Bertrand de Got, elected Pope under the name of Clement V. It follows the canons of the great Gothic buildings of the time. The recumbent statue of Pope Clement V is made of finely sculpted white marble from the Pyrenees, and stands on a high black marble sideboard.
