In Malagar, following in the footsteps of François Mauriac, there is something for everyone: for nature lovers, the superb panoramic view over the Garonne valley; for literature lovers, a tour of the estate steeped in the words of the Nobel Prize-winning author; for history buffs, the chance to explore the life of a writer deeply engaged with his era.
Part of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region’s heritage, the estate is listed as a Historic Monument and holds the ‘Maisons des Illustres’ designation, whilst its 4-hectare park is also listed.
Following a major restoration project, Malagar has introduced digital tools that enhance the guided tour of the House, the exhibition in the Chai du Rouge and the creation of an Escape Game, complete with headset and controller. Literary walks, activities for children, seminar facilities and cultural events all make Malagar a vibrant and unmissable heritage destination.

Guided tours with access to the first floor: one Saturday a month, booking essential.
