La Forêt d’Art Contemporain : The Cazalis Constellation, work n°26 to Cazalis
At the top of one of these horseshoe-shaped dunes (Doucs in Gascony), shaped by the westerly winds since the end of the last ice age, you can feel the sand wave formations with all the legends that surround them. In the 19th century, with the major drainage works, the forest came to cover and freeze this very ancient world. The artist has imagined the sea before the sand, and brought up from the depths a giant copy of a small crack in a rock. From its split base, you have a view of the shafts of a colossal forest such as may have existed on our planet, and you will be bathed in a light that draws flocks of birds on its walls.
