A masterpiece of 12th-century Romanesque art, listed by UNESCO as part of the World Heritage Route of the Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, La Sauve-Majeure Abbey stands as a magnificent testament to religious architecture that has endured through the centuries. It unfolds across an open-air landscape spanning over two hectares and features beautifully carved decorations: mythical creatures, heroes and biblical stories are depicted on the capitals of the church and the chevet. Welcome to this enchanting, timeless site, just 30 minutes from Bordeaux. Take advantage of the special tour and tasting offer, which allows you to visit the abbey and sample three local wines at the Maison des Vins de l’Entre-deux-Mers (located at the foot of the abbey).
