Hôpital Sainte-Marguerite to Cadillac-sur-garonne
The foundation of the hospital dates back to the Middle Ages. A convent, a cemetery and a dwelling, forming the new hospital, known as Sainte-Marguerite, was built by master masons Louis Coutereau, Martin Dutreau and Pierre Ardouin for the Duc d’Epernon during the first quarter of the 17th century. A number of buildings were added to the hospital in the 19th century, by successive architects from the department.
The hospital grounds contained cells for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
