Dating from the early 1950s, the LUX cinema maintained regular activity until the 1980s. Activity then became sporadic until the cinema was abandoned in the early 90s.

In 1999, a group of enthusiasts restarted the LUX cinema. A renovation was carried out in 2008, coordinated by Cadillac town council, which had become the owner of the premises. The rapid increase in admissions over the years made it clear that the LUX needed to be expanded to meet the new challenges facing the sector. A second 93-seat auditorium was then created in 2018.

Classified Art & Essai with more than 75% of titles labelled, the LUX develops throughout the year an ambitious animation policy to serve the works. To achieve this, the cinema relies on a network of loyal or renewed partners to create synergy around events.
