Pierre, in his sixties and recently retired, is a fairly irascible individual. His wife, Hélène, who is still in work, bears the brunt of this on a daily basis. Pierre spends his days in the company of Étienne, an old accomplice who has been single and retired for two years. They see each other almost every day. Following a ‘mindfulness meditation’ session that their friend Isabelle has enrolled them in, Pierre receives impromptu visits from his conscience, personified by a young woman.
