Florence Mothe invites you to visit this imaginary museum at the Château de Mongenan. In general, forgers are true artists, highly talented, who have failed to attract the interest of critics for their own work. Half out of spite, half out of irony, they churn out Braques, Picassos and Van Dongens. Some, convicted several times, ridicule the experts in the courtroom, demonstrating with speed, as long as they are given a canvas, brushes and colours, that they can produce a Vermeer or a David in no time at all. Some forgers are never discovered. Some have swindled famous collectors and curators.
