As part of an eco-friendly and virtuous approach combining reuse and creation, Mobilier National launched the Les Aliénés programme in 2019, giving contemporary artists – visual artists, designers, craftspeople, etc. – carte blanche to reinterpret antique furniture. This project has given rise to a brand new collection that is surprising, daring and offbeat, where innovation meets fantasy.
Continuing this programme, from spring 2026 onwards, three CMN monuments will host more than 50 pieces from this unique collection of quirky furniture combining heritage and creativity: armchairs, chests of drawers, lamps, tables, screens, reimagined rugs… These colourful works will playfully refurnish the bare spaces of the towers of La Rochelle.

Summer 2026: 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; open daily.
End of September – 15 November 2020: 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Tuesday to Sunday.
Please note: last admission to the monument is 1 hour before closing time.
