Grignols Fat Ox Festival to Grignols

Certified Label Rouge since 1997, the Bazadaise breed is the pride of the South Gironde region.

Descended from the finest Bazadaise, Blonde d’Aquitaine and Limousine beef cattle breeds, the Bazadaise breed is selected from approved and qualified farms in an area stretching from southern Gironde to part of the Landes region. Like Bazas and Captieux, the commune of Grignols celebrates its fattened cattle.

Tasting of fat beef from the carnival Boucherie du Rond-Point and Boucherie LABORDE butchers and delicacies from local shops. Organised by CACG Rugby and the butchers of Grignols. Attended by a host of former international players.


Dates

From 8:30 a.m.: Snack at the clubhouse with a plate of cold cuts or grilled meats and cheese: €10
– 10 a.m.: Parade of cattle presented by Laborde butchers. Tasting of fatty beef from Laborde and Rond-point butchers. Stop at participating shops for tasting of local products.
– 1 p.m.: Lunch in a heated marquee at the rugby stadium €40 (booking on 05 56 25 52 62 or 06 42 13 90 15): Beef pot-au-feu consommé; beef stew, grilled beef, sautéed potatoes; salad – cheese, tart; wine and coffee.
