The European Heritage Days offer an opportunity to take a fresh look at the Cadillac Hospital, to gain a better understanding of its history, its development and its role at the heart of the local area, whilst raising public awareness of mental health issues and working to destigmatise those affected by mental illness.
Talk: What if the stones of Cadillac all told the same story? Take a moment to step back in time as Léonor Reuzé, a tour guide and lecturer, invites you to trace the threads of a shared heritage: that of the Grailly, Foix-Candale and Épernon, whose legacy can still be seen today in every stone of the town.
From the Bastide to the ducal castle, from the Cemetery of the Forgotten to the hospital and its chapel, these five iconic sites echo one another, build upon one another and complement one another — like the chapters of a single narrative.
