Lecture at Mongenan Castle: from the abduction of Colonel Argoud to the Ben Barka affair to Portets
Le 25/10/2026Languages spoken
The history of the decolonisation of the Maghreb countries cannot be written without recalling a long series of crimes in which members of the French secret services and their temporary associates naturally took part.
Thus, de Gaulle’s personal hatred of Colonel Argoud suggests that the General himself gave the order for his abduction in Munich.
Similarly, despite the rivers of ink spilled over the murder of Ben Barka, it was only recently that the extent of the Mossad’s involvement in this operation – in which he was drowned in a bathroom and then buried – came to light.
The SAC, including Jo Attia and his team, were not innocent in these two operations.
In the lecture she will give at the Château de Mongenan in Portets on Sunday 25 October at 5.00 pm, Florence Mothe will provide details of these two operations, the second of which was merely a ‘copycat’ of the first.
