New PDIPR 2026 route:
Cérons takes its name from the River Ciron, which, in medieval times, flowed into the Garonne here. It was in the 18th century that the Carthusians diverted the river at Barsac to power the mill by the bridge. This pleasant route offers a variety of landscapes: starting from the village, the scenery alternates between farmland and vineyards, punctuated by castles and other heritage features known as ‘vernacular heritage’ (wash houses, wells, mission crosses, etc.)
