The Bazadais countryside to Sauviac

9.2 km(s) 2h Difficulty : Average
Stage 1 Start this walk with the church on your right and the village hall on your left. At the first junction, turn left towards Bazas. 400 metres further on, after crossing the ‘Sauviac stream’, turn left onto ‘Route de Sauviac’.
Stage 2 Start the climb and carry on along the main road until you reach the 3.5 km mark, at the junction with ‘La Bouchère’. Here, turn left and carry on straight ahead along ‘Chemin de Bitzette’ until you reach the junction with Avenue du Pont des Arches.
Stage 3 At the junction, turn right and walk past the Fompeyre estate. Continue along the main road to the centre of Bazas. At the 4.5 km mark, head up Rue Saint-Martin, slightly to your left, to reach Place de la Cathédrale. Walk along the arcades on the right-hand side of the square, then head back down a few metres further along Rue Théophile Servière, which is on your right. You will reach the foot of the town’s old ramparts. At the bottom of the street, turn left, then right towards “Moulin de la Glory” and the leisure centre.
Stage 4 Walk past the leisure centre and continue along “Moulin de la Glory”, following the River Beuve. At the next junction, turn right towards “Saint-Vivien Nord”, walk past the Dauga holiday cottage and rejoin the road. Turn right towards “Paouat-Nord” and start the climb up to the next junction.
Stage 5 Turn left towards Frayot-Sud and carry on straight ahead via “Bas-Quatre”, “Lubata” and “Pêches”. Reach the village by crossing the “Sauviac stream” again and following the same route as on the way there from the junction with the Route de Sauviac.
