Lac de la Prade to Bazas
The protected ornithological reserve at Lac de La Prade, 5 km from Bazas, is home to some exceptional flora and fauna. Set amidst rolling hills, the immense reservoir provides a peaceful setting for birdwatching. A large colony of grey herons makes its home here, alongside pairs of great crested grebes. What’s more, the slopes around the lake are one of Gironde’s priority dry grassland orchid sites. A signposted footpath and educational facilities make it easy to observe and discover all the species listed. Fishing pontoons and picnic tables are also available.
