Located on the outskirts of Bordeaux, in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in Villenave d’Ornon, Château Couhins is a Graves Cru Classé owned by INRAE, the French National Institute for Agricultural and Environmental Research, since 1968.
With its strong historical roots, the estate now showcases the results of all the wine research carried out by INRAE. The Château benefits from the latest innovations in research, serving as a showcase for the institute with the aim of promoting scientific excellence in the production of prestigious wines and sustainable viticulture.
Awarded the “Vignobles et Découvertes” label by Atout France, Château Couhins also won a Best Of d’Or Wine Tourism award in 2015 and 2025 in the categories “Wine tourism promotion of environmental practices” and “Sustainable wine tourism”.
