An exceptional wine and wine tourism site to visit! This former fortified castle, which played a leading role in local history until the 18th century, is now an architectural heritage site of great interest, with its Renaissance façade listed as a Historic Monument, its elegant 14th-century Tour de Gascq, its parkland with trees over a hundred years old and its uninterrupted view over the Garonne. In addition to its long-standing wine-growing vocation, Château de Portets offers a range of wine-tourism activities, including themed tours, film screenings, a scenographic area and a photocall.
Children can learn about the history of the Château and how its wine is made in a treasure hunt.
Château de Portets won a Best Of Wine Tourism award in 2024 in the Architecture and Landscape category.
