A pleasant stroll along the banks of the Ciron takes you into the heart of the forest, where veteran resin tappers enthusiastically demonstrate their craft, which has now fallen into disuse.

From February to October, the resin harvester never leaves the woods. From preparing the tree at the very start of the season right through to the ‘barrascot’ (the end of the work), the resin harvester roams the pine forest. Very often, wives and children share in his daily life by lending a hand.

Les Amis du Patrimoine de Bernos-Beaulac invite you on a tour during which you will discover the history of this activity in the Bazadais region and the resin tappers’ expertise, which remains as strong as ever.
