Forests occupy 34% of the surface area of our territory, making Nouvelle-Aquitaine one of Europe’s leading forest regions.

By devastating 30,000 hectares of forest, the fires of summer 2022 in Gironde will have left a lasting mark on the environment and on people’s memories.

The exhibition will focus on the forest, which occupies such a special place in our region.

How does the forest influence artists and how do they represent it?

Photographs by Jean-Luc Chapin and a video installation by Chloe Dewe Mathews are the starting point for this forest expedition.
