More than a return to her roots, it is a desire to get to know her ancestors, Benin, more deeply.
More than a return to her roots, Perrine Fifadji wants to get to know the country of her ancestors, Benin, in greater depth. Perrine Fifadji wasn’t born there, didn’t grow up there, but she needs to rediscover what is viscerally Beninese in her, to discover what connects her to all the women of this country, through the eyes of an adult, a woman, an expatriate, and finally to choose which Beninese she wants to be. It’s a question of delving into the traditional and contemporary culture of Benin as a woman, to give a personal, original, rooted and open musical vision, tinged with elsewhere.
