After an unhappy marriage to Louis VII, known as Louis the Pious, Eleanor of Aquitaine obtained the first divorce in Western history.
The show begins on the day of her wedding to Henry Plantagenet, future King of England. Without the consent of their liege, they prepare to unite. However, in the middle of the ceremony, Eleanor had second thoughts, refused Henry’s hand and fled. She then embarks on a journey of initiation through her pagan lands, meeting some unusual allies: a befuddled knight, a recluse and an abbess. Surrounded by conspiracies, she will have to make a choice with intimate, magical and political consequences.
