Out and about with the grey lady to Captieux

This activity, organised by a member of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park, will take you along the paths that lead to the observation of one of Europe’s largest birds, which takes up its winter quarters around Captieux. From the lookout on the edge of the Camp du Poteau, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to witness the life of the grey lady: grooming, courtship, foraging and other movements to be observed through the telescope, not forgetting the return to the dormitory areas at dusk. Accompanied by your guide, you can learn more about the bird’s way of life. A snack to share will provide an opportunity to take a break during this afternoon of discovery.
