Out and about with the grey lady to Captieux

On this tour, led by a guide from the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park, you’ll follow paths that lead you to spot one of Europe’s largest birds, which spends the winter in the area around Captieux. Whilst on the lookout at the edge of Camp du Poteau, you’ll maximise your chances of witnessing scenes from the grey heron’s daily life: preening, courtship displays, foraging and other behaviours to observe through binoculars, not to mention watching them return to their roosting areas at dusk. Accompanied by your guide, you’ll be able to learn more about the bird’s way of life. A snack to share will provide a welcome break during this afternoon of discovery.

Booking is essential via the Maison de la Nature du Bassin d’Arcachon. The meeting point will be provided at the time of booking.
