Talk – Art History: ‘Whose breast is this?’ to Bazas
Le 27/10/2026As part of Pink October, the media library invites you to take an artistic and historical look at a universal symbol that is at once intimate, political and poetic: the breast in the history of art.
Led by Isabelle Beccia, who holds a PhD in art history and is the museum’s head of public engagement, this talk will take you on a fascinating journey through the ages.
From depictions of motherhood and the sacred to symbols of emancipation, via the nude and the medical perspective, come and discover how artists have shaped, glorified or questioned this part of the human body over the centuries.
