Bazas – Castets and Castillon Cycle Route to Bazas

Etape 1

Prendre d’embranchement au niveau du lieu-dit Saint-Vincent Nord en quittant la piste cyclable Mios-Bazas et tourner tout de suite à gauche.

Etape 2

Follow the road to Cazats.

After passing some warehouses on the left, turn right, following the sign for the ‘Garonne Canal Greenway’.

Etape 3

Traverser le bourg puis au stop, tourner à gauche direction "Coimères".

Etape 4

Continuer sur la D123 jusqu’au croisement avec la D116. Au stop, tourner à droite direction Brannens, Savignac, Auros.

Etape 5

Suivre cette route jusqu’au croisement avec la D12. Au stop tourner à gauche direction Savignac, la Réole.

Etape 6

Continuer jusqu’au bourg puis tourner à gauche au panneau « Voie verte du Canal de Garonne ».

Etape 7

Suivre cette route jusqu’à un stop et tourner à gauche puis traverser l’autoroute.

The Bazas–Castets-et-Castillon cycle route, an unmissable stage of the Tour de Gironde by bike, takes you to either the Entre-deux-Mers or the southern Gironde.

The landscapes you pass through are shaped, on the one hand, by mixed farming – wine-growing, livestock and poultry farming, market gardening, cereal crops, wicker and tobacco – and, on the other, by a rich natural and built heritage.

The Pays d’Auros and Bazadais regions are home to beautiful Romanesque and Gothic churches, such as St Jean-Baptiste Cathedral in Bazas, and mills such as the Piis watermill in Bassanne and those in the village of Sillas. The town of Bazas is in its own right a major tourist destination thanks to its ancient history.

The lakes of Brouqueyran, Sigalens and La Prade, along with the rivers Bassanne, Beuve, Lysos and Ciron, lend this area a bucolic setting perfect for relaxation.
