Mauriac, the vineyard and the wine to Saint-maixant

Through the lens of history and literature, this tour invites participants:
• to delve into the work of François Mauriac, a writer, journalist and winegrower who
found in Malagar a land rich in inspiration, as well as a vineyard that was symbolically
‘alive, happy, suffering’, as he had already confided in his ‘Journal’.
• to explore the history of a wine estate, a testament to an era and a way of
life (19th and 20th centuries), from the Mauriacs to the present day,
• to discover the wines of Château Malagar, either on site at Malagar, or by heading
up the hill opposite for a tour of the Château Malagar cellars accompanied
by a tasting.
