Exhibition: Journey of Ink, Thread of the Landscape to Langon
From 12/03/2026 at 02/05/2026Languages spoken
Introduced to the art of painting by Korean master Lee UngNo, Florence Schrobiltgen learned “the flight of the brush, the mysteries of paper, the song of ink and the concentration of gesture”. This precious transmission now feeds into a unique artistic approach, where Eastern traditions meet a contemporary, sensitive and poetic visual style. Her medium of choice is Indian ink, applied to oriental paper. This pictorial gesture is complemented by a process of recomposition: the artist cuts, tears, sews, assembles and pulls threads. The fabrics, which she screen-prints herself, become the raw material for her work, carrying memories and traces, and are then reworked with ink, drawing and sewing. The exhibition opens on Thursday 12 March at 6.30 pm in the George Sand room of the Centre Culturel des Carmes.
