Taire – De Tamara Al Saadi to Langon
Le 27/02/2026Languages spoken
TAIRE is a contemporary and moving retelling of the myth of Antigone, brought to life by Tamara Al Saadi. In a striking mirror image, two teenage girls stand up to a world that is crushing them: Antigone, a tragic, mute figure from the Greek myth, and Eden, a young girl from today, placed in care by the Children’s Social Welfare Agency.
One is frozen in silence and the legacy of a family history that has been passed on to her.
One is frozen in silence and the legacy of a tragic family history, the other tries, through words, to survive abandonment, institutional violence and absurdity.
TAIRE explores the issue of the silence imposed on children and the need to make their powerlessness and rage resonate. In a pared-down, organic scenography, bodies, sounds, languages and music bring out a polyphony of silences and stifled cries.
