The Phantom Limb – BaNCALE Theatre Company to Langon
Le 06/11/2026Languages spoken
Scrapes, sprains, stitches… circus performers are constantly pushing their limits. Are they mad to take such risks? Perhaps… But if there were no danger, would we take as much pleasure in watching them? Without admitting it to ourselves, aren’t we trying to overcome our own fears through them?
After an accident on the Korean teeter-board, Karim Randé chose to have his leg amputated so he could continue to fly. His ‘phantom limb’ – the missing limb he can still feel – becomes the driving force behind his feats. Together with his fellow performers, he transforms this asymmetrical body into a machine capable of extraordinary feats: the Chinese pole, crutches, ropes and even a wheelchair become apparatus for his performances.
Free from pathos or moralising, this show is a breath of optimism, a daring, funny and powerful circus… an absolute must-see!
Suitable for ages 8 and over.
Pre-show event in the foyer with La Cave des Carmes from 7.00 pm.
Backstage meet-and-greet with the performers.
