This summer, historian and tour guide David Souny is offering five guided tours to (re)discover Rions, 25 km from Bordeaux, starting from the Echoppe de marchand.

Come and hear the story of this little-known medieval town.

Summer tours starting from the Echoppe de marchand (next to the church) at 6.00 pm:

– Wednesday 8 July: From the church to the seigneurial castle via the medieval town hall.

– Wednesday 15 July: The Citadel and the port of Rions.

– Wednesday 29 July: The [pea] market hall and the Lavidon suburb to the Place

d’Armes

– Wednesday 19 August: A history of towers and gates: the walls of Rions facing the hillsides

of the Entre-deux-Mers.

– Wednesday 26 August: Rions, a medieval town…

The small museum at the Échoppe de Marchand (Rions Heritage Society) will be

open from 5.30 pm on these days and accessible free of charge before the tour begins.
